Ordered takeaway during this covid19 pandemic. Called in and picked up less than 20 mins later. Got the combo for 2/$49.99. Was unreal. Food was hot and fresh and tasty af. Would recommend!
Slow service, was not asked about coffee refill for 45 min, taste ok21$ before tax and tip
This is a chain that could be great if they were better managed. The food was not hot and the service was tepid too. Huevos Divorciados was okay but I was expecting more of a chilaqueles style dish.
love the decor of this spot, we sat at the back and i loved the pink chairs and the little room with the mix tape wallpaper. i also loved that even though i was facing the back wall, it was mirrored so i could still see the whole restaurant. the food was really good, and the service was super fast and friendly. giving four stars because i find the prices a little crazy -- we paid $50+ for a grilled cheese, burger and fries & one milkshake. we will be back though!
Our dodgeball group goes every Saturday evening. It's just the right kind of down dirty and hearty food you want after a sweaty workout. It's not extravagant, but the new restaurant is well designed and welcoming. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very chilled out. Traditional burgers, wraps, breakfast and stuff are served but milkshakes are what they're known for. make sure get one. I recommend the Chicken and Goat Cheese Sandwich. It's an absolute winner.
Good service. Nice location. All day breakfast. Food is good but kinda pricey for what it is. Don't care for the beans that came with our plates. If this becomes a 24 hour location, I would choose it over ESD.
New diner on the block with some fresh diner vibes. Definitely dig the milkshakes and food (much better than Elgin Street Diner down the road)
Had an amazing time having lunch here. Food was amazing, atmosphere was fun and the service was great. Same nostalgic charm as the original in a new great location.10/10!!!
The atmosphere is wonderful. The food here is even better than the food in Byward. Our server was very nice and accommodating. The food came out quickly and we cleaned our plates. We left feeling satisfied and well fed. Definitely coming here again.
Been there twice now. The good is good but pricey. Both servers we had were weird - they either didn't know boundaries or they were argumentative. On the most recent occasion, the server tried to convince my friend and I that we both didn't tell him we wanted a certain side and that we were wrong. He was argumentative and tried to convince us that "maybe we said it to each other" and not to him. Never been in a situation where the waiter was arguing with the customer on what they ordered, it was pretty embarrassing. He tried to overcompensate by being nice before we left because I'm sure he knew he was wrong.
Ordered 2 burger meals to go. When we got back to our hotel room, we didn't get quite what we ordered. Big disappointment #1-asked for and paid for gravy, didn't get gravy. #2-asked for pickles & mustard on my burger, didn't get pickles or mustard. However, the burgers were good and the fries & onion rings were really good. You get lots of food for your money. Just don't get it to go.
The restaurant was clean, fast and friendly service. The portions were good and the food was very tasty!
The server was not too friendly, and not very attentive, considering how few tables he had. I asked him about a menu item, he described it and I ordered it. It came out completely different (much worse) than he described and when I brought it up to him, he laughed it odd and walked away. When I was paying I mentioned it again and he still thought I was kidding... So overall a huge waste of my money that I couldn't get back, plus a night of being sick from the food afterwards.
Definitely way overpriced for the quality and serving portions you get. Compared to Elgin st and even Gabriel's who doesnt specialize in breakfast it is disappointing. Feel like they create a cool atmosphere and think that's worth charging 5.00 on average more per meal than other places and the quality is no better. cool diner though and staff wasnt too bad.
Fantastic service. We had an excellent server and the meals came out quick. Breakfast wasn't the best I've had, bit I'll still go back.
Fantastic food. old-fashioned diner experience. slightly pricey but decent options
Good smoothies - no tapioca. Not real bubble tea. Very attentive staff. They check on you every minute on the minute. Great spot for students to do homework. Lots of condiments: real mayo, 2 hot sauces, free peanut butter and jam samples to take home! What a fantastic experience!
Great food, awesome menu, but service was sooooooooo slow. For the amount of servers, it didn't make any sense. Good thing we weren't in a rush. Hopefully it was a one-off experience.
I wanted it to be decent diner grub, but ... meh. Service was fine. Fish and chips were a 3-4. Packaged tartar sauce, unappealing chips. Milkshake had to have been sitting. More like slightly thick chocolate milk. Darn.
Renovated, clean and I enjoyed my time. Service was quick and food was good.
We had a lovely meal last night and our server was very attentive. We will definitely be back thank-you for delicious meals.
Awesome staff and food with a great atmosphere. Milkshakes are a must and their burgers are tasty. Very good portion sizes but slightly more expensive than other diners in the neighborhood.
A better location for us than the Byward market but still a great selection of brunch items.
The food was amazing. It was my first time there and it was fun. The staff was pleasant and friendly. Will definitely be back
The place is awsome.. Food is amazing, price is on point, service was exceptional and the kitchen is immaculate. Cant wait to go again. Also the decor and atmosphere is amazing. Thanks for a great experience!
A fresh start to a new diner. Zak's replaces the former Dunn's that was here. After a thorough facelift the location is completely new. The servers are very attentive and if you like breakfast sausage then don't miss out. It's the best kind. Definitely recommend.
If you like Zak's Diner in the Byward Market - you'll like this! Same great menu, prices and very similar atmosphere.
We hve been all exited to try Zak's Diner since the construction on Elgin street was done both my supervisor took the opportunity to treat us for a brunch because we were all busy with Christmas and it was due with it's "CSR Team" to wrap up last yrs team hardwork...cont. We all loved it with it's decor & great service and the food taste good - amazing & it's worth the price. It does remind me a bit of the old Nickel on rideau street et bon appetitðŸ˜
It's not making nice food for breakfast. So I doubt it gets any better later in the day. Hopefully they retrain the kitchen staff.
The food is always fantastic here. The servers are so friendly and fast. Great spot for a bite at weird hours too! Have a milkshake, you won't regret it!
Good food for a fair price and super friendly staff. However, the waiting time before a table was available, the waiting time to place my order and to pay, and the waiting time for the food to be served was too long.I might have been unlucky so I will definitely come back sometime in the future to see if my experience was a fluke and/or if waiting times have improved.
